Silver Forest

Frost has silver plated the trees.

Every branch is covered.

No shadows in the treasure of this solemn forest because the sun is hidden.

Quiet tones

No bright whites, no deep darks

Only silver middle tones reflecting off each other.

Waiting.

I am staring at the beauty of this forest. The colors and textures seem so unreal. I know it won’t last for long. The sun and breeze will eventually melt and blow this silver plating effect off of all the branches. It makes everything seem so quiet. I don’t know why it has that effect on me. It makes me feel like we all have to hold our breath.

These photos are my attempt to capture this effect. I haven’t tried to paint it yet.

I am still in awe.

If these three photographs inspire you, go ahead and use them to create a painting. The only thing that I ask, send me a tweet or leave a comment here and let me see it. Thanks!
